Emma Bassett is one of the UK’s finest young musicians. A specialist bass trumpeter she has performed for the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. The London Symphony Orchestra, English National Ballet and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra have all engaged Emma as a trombonist.
Emma has developed a dynamic non-classical profile too, touring the Balkans with the Hackney Colliery Band, playing for the Bollywood film Neethaane En Ponvasantham in Southern India and performing at Glastonbury with Adele.
Born in Cornwall, Emma attended the world class music department at Wells Cathedral School in Somerset. She later gained a First Class Honours at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance an MA Distinction from the Royal Academy of Music in London.
Emma joined Bella Tromba as the group’s bass trumpeter in 2012. She has performed at numerous festivals with the ensemble including Beautiful Days, Dartington International, Cambridge Summer Music and Henley Festival. She has appeared on BBC Radio with Bella Tromba and her unique role as the group’s bass trumpeter was featured in a major article in Brass Herald magazine.
